Jetzt Geoeffnet! German Bread Bakery

Grand Opening of the new German Bread Bakery in Las Vegas happened on January 12, 2011. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday. German Honorary Consul Andreas R. Adrian did the honors and welcomed the German Bakery to Las Vegas.

Following Consul Adrian's invitation, several dignitaries attended the Grand Opening: Honorary Consul of Austria, Mr. Ed Prudhomme, Gayle Anderson, Chief of Protocol and Diplomatic Relations of the State of Nevada representing the new Nevada governor Brian Sandoval, Las Vegas City Councilman Ward 4 Mr. Stavros Anthony, Mr. Bruno Choueiri representing the Las Vegas Metro Police Department, Italian Honorary Consul Stefano Ripamonti and about 200 initial anxious customers wanting to try the free samples and shop for their German Bread.

This first German Bread Bakery store  sits in a great Summerlin location on 2237 N. Rampart Blvd., Suite 3 C. It is in the Smith‘s Shopping Center at the corner of W. Lake Mead and N. Rampart. Go to the story >>>

Jean and his wife Ramona Traila had planned this venture for years, then came to Las Vegas, and with the help of Andreas Adrian as their REALTOR, were able to find and get this strategically situated storefront.

Fresh baked buns (Broetchen) and black bread (Schwarzbrot) are just some of the specialties you can find here. They also feature a large variety of  tremendously delicious pastries that you can not find in a regular grocery store. Be there at 10:45 to enjoy a complimentary cup of coffee and try samplings of some fantastic German bread & pastries.

Featuring an old German „Baecker“ (Niklas Traila) and a „Konditormeister“ Gordon Hinz), they opened up their bakery in North Las Vegas first, and planned this Summerlin Retail Store for some time. But now it is reality, and the retail store is open.

Having heard about the need for a good German Bread bakery in Nevada, Jean and Ramona decided to move. To move across the ocean, just to establish themselves in the Nevada desert, in order to bake up a storm for the German community, as well as those Americans and European Expatriats that still have memories of what bread used to be for them.

While a lot of people are unhappy with the soft quality of bread at their local grocery store, the German Bread Bakery offers a variety of traditional German bread, including rolls (Broetchen), breads (Brote), pastrie (Teilchen), and special orders.

Their German breads and rolls are manufactured by hand according to old original German recipes. Since the quality and freshness of their baked goods is their top priority, they do not use artificial dyes, artificial flavorings or preservatives. Their uniqueness is based on the use of natural sourdough, fresh yeast, selected grains and the careful choice of flours, which differs considerably from the usual breads.
